This is a beautiful worsted weight traditional tweed yarn spun in Kilcar, Co. Donegal. 

If you are a fan of a good "toothy" wool, then this is the yarn for you! Ideal for outwear, for weaving projects, and for accessories that will stand the test of time.

Suitable for both knitting and crochet, and complete with the charming "neps" or flecks that characterise true Donegal Tweed yarns.

New technique

I am knitting a vest-type button front top in the navy wool, using linen stitch and it’s giving a great texture and weight to the project. I’m delighted to have mastered the technique and with my Donegal wool.

Good sturdy wool at a reasonable price

I've bought quite a lot of this wool at this point and all I can say is it's very reliable and easy to work with. My only comment would be that you should be aware that it feels quite thick and course but if one keeps that in mind it is perfect!

Loving using your lovely yarn!

Your yarn is really lovely to use - I bought a duck egg blue fleck to add crotchet to the bottom of a jade green knit cardigan I already had - and it's looking great. Your yarn matches perfectly. I love it and will be returning for a purple or pink to finish my 'new' garment.

I love this wool. The colours are fantastic and I love the little flecks of colour. I haven't started my project just yet but I'm enjoying squishing the wool and looking at the colours!
