Designed by Aleks Byrd, the Hilja Mitts are inspired by traditional Estonian motifs dating back to the 1930s. These fingerless mitts feature a beautifully unique and eye-catching embroidered design.

Knit from the bottom up, the body of these wrist warmers features a motif created using the Estonian inlay technique called “Roosimine”. The contrast colours (CC1 and CC2) are held double for the inlay floats. Curious to learn more about Roosimine? Check out Aleks' blog post explaining what it is and how it works!

And as an added bonus, our kits include enough yardage for you to knit two pairs of Hilja mitts! So knit one pair for yourself and one for a friend!

Skill level: 

  • Advanced beginner. Comfortable with knitting with two colours and in the round. The pattern includes links to video tutorials.

Packages can be shipped via An Post (the Irish National Postal Service) or DPD / DHL Courier.

We ship Tuesday - Friday each week.

A note re Brexit:

VAT will automatically be collected at checkout on order values under £135 (the prices you see when browsing include VAT).
