Chunky Lace Wrap
February 26 2010 – thisisknit
All the cold weather we have been having since before Christmas has provided great opportunities to show off the knit wear! Although I do think we could all be suffering from a little "frost fatigue" at this point... So to banish those winter blues I give you the spring-green Chunky Lace Wrap:
This eagle-eyed among you may recognise it as the original Party Lace Scarf pattern, "embiggened", with chunky yarn, an extra pattern repeat and a three stitch garter stitch border. It was a project that resided in the back of my brain for a while, simply because I love over-size lace, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
This version used three balls of Rowan Cocoon, but another knitter who comes to the shop used Lambs Pride Bulky to great effect - she even made the pattern another repeat wider and the whole shebang a bit longer - using five balls of the Bulky in total.
The pattern is free with the purchase of enough Cocoon, Lambs Pride Bulky, Cashmerino Chunky or Luxury Chunky Tweed (Oooo - big *tweedy* lace!) to make the pattern.
