Soft Donegal | Studio Donegal - This is Knit

Soft Donegal hails from a mill that is based in the small town of Kilcar, Co. Donegal. This is an area of great natural beauty, with a rich textile heritage.

This aran weight yarn represents the softer side of tweed, as it is spun with 100% merino wool fibres. The shades are inspired by the Irish landscape and each skein features characteristic and iconic Donegal "Neps", or tweed flecks in complementary colours.


Needle Size: 4-4.5mm, US 6-7
Fibre Content: 100% merino wool
Weight: 100 grams
Length: 190 metres
Tension: 18 - 20 sts to 10cm, using the recommended needle size

Disappointed

Don't get me wrong, the quality of the yarn and the color are impeccable, but I what I got in the mail felt much thinner than what is pictured here. It honestly feels like a DK weight when I hold and work with it (even after blocking the swatch to the exact gauge).

I received the yarn! It’s a beautiful purple color with little specks of color. The yarn is 100% wool and a little hard to work with but when the sweater is done it will be very pretty!
