Soft Donegal | Studio Donegal - This is Knit

Soft Donegal hails from a mill that is based in the small town of Kilcar, Co. Donegal. This is an area of great natural beauty, with a rich textile heritage.

This aran weight yarn represents the softer side of tweed, as it is spun with 100% merino wool fibres. The shades are inspired by the Irish landscape and each skein features characteristic and iconic Donegal "Neps", or tweed flecks in complementary colours.


Needle Size: 4-4.5mm, US 6-7
Fibre Content: 100% merino wool
Weight: 100 grams
Length: 190 metres
Tension: 18 - 20 sts to 10cm, using the recommended needle size

I was with you in August and bought the Soft Donegal No. AN890. I was in your shop twice and you were so nice to me 🥰. The Big Love pattern from Ankestrick goes very well with this wonderful wool🍀. I received the yarn! It’s a beautiful purple color with little specks of color. The yarn is 100% wool and a little hard to work with but when the sweater is done it will be very pretty!
