Nixie is a water lily leaf of a shawl, with waves of dark waters broken by the magic of Norwegian shapeshifting water spirits and the scales of the Irish Salmon of Knowledge, Nixie evokes magic creatures and water mystery.
What happens when Julie Knits in Paris joins forces with Tuva from Norne Yarn and our very own Jenny from Townhouse Yarns - pure magic, that's what.
Tuva was inspired by Theodor Kittelsen’s illustrations of
Scandinavian fairy tales and legends to create the brooding dark green
"Underearthers" shade on her luxurious merino, silk and yak base.
Jenny then turned to the rich pool of Irish folklore, and in Celtic myths and legends she found inspiration for two new shades on Fade St 4ply: the icy blues of "Overlords" and the shifting golden tones of "Fionn McCool".
They shared all these ancient tales with Julie, and this is how Nixie was born.
