The Merry Merino 140 from Kremke Soul Wool is the GOTS-certified successor to the popular baby wool Bebe Soft Wash. Why the change? Quite simply, because the eco-conscious team at Kremke really wanted the wool to have a GOTS certificate! They've also taken the opportunity to revise and freshen up the color palette.
As a medium to thin merino wool, The Merry Merino 140 GOTS is perfect for baby clothing and adult clothing of all kinds! Cardigans, sweaters or dresses: 99% of people find merino wool to be absolutely scratch-free! Thanks to the environmentally friendly enzyme treatment, it can be machine washed on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees. This makes them totally easy to care for and just super practical for every occasion!
The Merry Merino 140 has two thicker sisters, each measuring 110 and 70 meters.

I've taught Tunisian Crochet workshops all summer using this yarn for my students, and it never fails to get an Ooooh or an Aaaah when my class first arrive.
Its softness, cheery colours and easy handling make it an excellent basis for a class.
In fact, the dye issue mentioned in my earlier review below related to this yarn’s predecessor, Bebe softwash, which is no longer available. I haven’t encountered any such problems with Merry Merino.
Used this yarn for hiking sock cuffs and upon blocking (gentle soak in barely warm water), the colour has bled like crazy. Nice yarn to work with, but I’ll never use it for colouwork again.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this feedback.
We have not been aware of this being an issue for others and so could I ask you to please send me on the shade and lot number if you have them and I can follow up on this with our supplier for you.
We agree this should not happen and will get to the bottom of it.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Aisling
Really good quality yarn that's easy to work with. Fabulous selection of colours too.
It's a pleasure to work with this yarn, the sweater grows rapidly. The colours are beautiful and GOTS certificate makes it a perfect yarn.
