Love

I purchased this yarn to make scarf sweater and this was my first time using a laceweight yarn. This was beautifully dyed and as a first time laceweight user, it became my new favourite. Absolutely love it.

Not so disappointing yarn - review update

In my original review of Townhouse Abbey Lace Wildgrove, I was not happy with the results - but it turns out that the problem was not the yarn but my choice of lace pattern.
My revised pattern shows the colours to best effect - pretty, jelly tot pastels. I'm very happy with the results now!

I love the colour & it will make the love note garment more luxurious.

Over and above

I've just moved back to the UK from Ireland and wanted to stock up with some Townhouse Abbey Lace in Trench, which was at the time out of stock. I chatted with Jenny from Townhouse online and she said she would prioritize my order (which she did) and sent it onto the shop. We left a bit earlier than expected, so I spoke to Aisling asking that the yarn be posted to my UK address. To make sure I had received before I left, she sent it by courier and it arrived the next. Outstanding service and I'm so sorry you won't be my LYS any more. Although I do have my eye on the Iveagh Lace and will be back in touch when we're more settled. Thanks to you all and will keep in touch.

Light and airy is very true!

Years ago I knit a shawl with a mohair/silk blend (not from Townhouse) and had so much trouble that I almost gave up on it. The yarn kept floating (literally!) off the needles and drove me to distraction. I recently decided to give it another try, using TIK's recommendation about holding it double with another yarn. I've used it with Fade St. 4-ply to produce heavenly soft and cuddly scarves and shawls. It really is dreamy: I now dream of using the combination with most projects from now on.
