Darnie | Studio Donegal - This is Knit

Darnie is a stunning 4-ply/fingering weight 100% lambswool yarn from Studio Donegal. This is a beautifully balanced 2ply tweed and absolutely fabulous to knit with. Each skein of Darnie weighs 100 grams and holds 410 metres (448 yards).

Just perfect

Only received this yarn, but already I’m in love. Bought only one skein to try it out knitting cable socks, then I will consider doing a sweater, colour as I hoped it would be. Very happy 😃

Love this soft Studio Donegal fingering weight yarn. The lambswool is great to knit with and blooms beautifully when washed and blocked. I intend knitting the Tonnta sweater designed by Ailbiona Macloughlin.

Recent order

I visited Ireland from the USA in early May. This Is Knit is a wonderful shop and actually I tried to go back before I left but they were closed! Devastating! I ended up ordering more Darnie from them online. Darnie is much cheaper in Ireland and the shipping is very reasonable. What amazed me was how quickly my yarn and needles arrived. Within a week!

Another great yarn from studio Donegal

Darnie is a beautiful fingering weight yarn from Studio Donegal . The oatmeal colour is so beautiful with a tweed effect . The yarn knits up with good stitch definition and after blocking is soft and easy to wear with a lovely drape . There is over 400 m in a skein so it’s a very economical yarn to use . I am using it to make Forager Light by Isabel Kraemer .
