Sample Knits in Darnie
May 22 2018 – Lisa

There's a lot of buzz happening around the launch of the new fingering weight tweed from Studio Donegal this Friday! We'll be the first to have "Darnie" on sale in Ireland, but some of our lucky friends have already had the chance to knit with this exciting new yarn. And wow... their projects are spectacular!
Our good friend Mary L gleefully took on the challenge of creating this gorgeous cardigan just a few short weeks ago and we think it's a remarkable demonstration of the versatility of Darnie. Just look at how well it works up in both lace and cables, and how beautifully even stockinette becomes after blocking.
This sample features elbow-length sleeves, but Ysolda's pattern provides options for a number of different lengths and other customisations. You can pick up the pattern over on Ravelry and create your very own using just between 3 and 5 skeins of this fabulous new yarn.
Shortly after we received the first sample skeins of Darnie one of our Woollinn Special Guests released a brand new pattern that just cried out to be knit in this yarn. Jaycee is a round yoke cardigan, knit from the top down, with a pleasing miniature cable-and-lace detailing. We see this as a throw-on-and-go-anywhere garment, representative of Isabell's signature style.
If you prefer your knitwear in accessory form then we have two tempting suggestions for you: "Ziggy Played with Yarn" (which we blogged here) and this stunning "Lens Flare" shawl. Soothing stripes and straightforward lace combine to create a comforting, lightweight wrap. The colour range in Darnie has plenty of playful brights to combine with stylish neutrals, so there are lots of potential combinations to suit every style.
Pop on by to our Stand G2 at Woollinn for your chance to try on these fabulous knits. We're looking forward to seeing you there!

Can’t wait for Woollinn (fantastic name, by the way)! Going with my sister and currently making plans for what we ‘need’ to buy…the problem will be holding ourselves back!! Best of luck with the final preparations! Fiona
