The Irish Yarn Club 2016
December 15 2015 – Holly
Next year will bring a new edition of the Irish Yarn Club, where local talents Carol Feller, Hedgehog Fibres, Townhouse Yarns, Dublin Dye Company + Donegal Yarns come together to bring patterns and exclusive hand dyed yarns right to your needles. Want to know what's in the cards for the upcoming 2016 Club? We wouldn't want to ruin the surprise, but it's safe to say it will be an exciting year!
Each year Carol Feller designs patterns for a selection of accessories, featuring unique construction techniques, with a focus on being wearable, flattering, and a pleasure to knit. Each pattern is paired with a yarn dyed in exclusive colourways specifically for the club by Irish hand dyers. Yarns will range from lace weight to aran weight, and will arrive with an installment in February, April and June. Previous years included hats, shawls, and socks, each highlighting the beautiful hand dyed yarns they are paired with, which made for gorgeous FOs in a spectrum of colours by Club members. Check out jennybee26's beautiful cabled Tempano hat on display in Iceland, where the lovely Hedgehog Fibres colours couldn't be more complimentary to the landscape.
Or how about this stunning Fortune Green cowl by rodmarjoraph in Townhouse Yarns Camden Tweed; a beautiful pairing to show off the decorative stitch pattern.
Here's another beauty from last year's Club, marujapge's lacey Feamainn Shawl in a vibrant teal colourway by Hedgehog Fibres.
Each edition to the Club is it's own adventure: discover Irish dyers while you learn new techniques, knitting up wearable accessories, all the while having the support of the Ravelry community. The perfect gift for any knitter, or better yet: a treat for yourself!
The Irish Yarn Club is not just for us lucky Irish either, there are subscription packages that include European and International delivery as well; so no matter where you are in the world, you can enjoy a little bit of Ireland! Don't miss out on all the fun: only a limited number of subscriptions are available, and purchases must be made before the 20th of December. A pattern-only option is also available for purchase here.
Were you apart of any of the previous Irish Yarn Clubs? Have you knit any Carol Feller patterns lately, or worked with any Irish hand dyed yarns?
