Featherweight Cardigan - This is Knit
Featherweight Cardigan - This is Knit
With peak knitting season in full swing we have *a lot* of gorgeous new shop samples to share with you all.  In today's post we're handing over the reins to Jacqui, so she can fill you all in on her latest FO in her current favourite yarn... "I have been hankering to cast on with Meadow again... the yarn just keeps calling to me and I was getting withdrawal symptoms! So I asked myself, what do I really need in my knit wardrobe life for the coming months? Layers immediately sprang to mind because, let's face it, in this Irish climate you ever know how the days weather is going to go!  Cold in the mornings at the bus stop, warm running around in the shop and then cold again going home...   So I decided on an old favourite of mine that I have been wanting to knit for a very long time. The Featherweight Cardigan by Hannah Fettig.  This pattern suits the lightness and the drape of Meadow, and the subtle texture of this yarn adds interest to this simple and elegant design. I did make some changes to the pattern but not many. I just lengthened the sleeves and the body for a little more coverage.  This version used about 1.75 skeins of Meadow in Gentian Violet, so there was plenty of scope for adding that extra length.   If you drop into the shop over the coming months you're very likely to see me wearing my extremely versatile new cardi. That, or my other favourite Meadow project, the Este Top.  I'll be back to tell you a little more about that one in another post soon!" Jacqui
