Name It to Win It! - This is Knit
Name itto win it! With just ten days to go until Yarn Shop Day the excitement is building here at This is Knit! And who wouldn't be excited? Just look at the gorgeous skeins of Fade St 4ply that Jenny has dyed exclusively for the celebrations! Just 10 skeins will ever be available in this shade, and it won't go on sale until our doors open on Saturday 30th of April. In the meantime, one of you lucky readers can *win* one of the skeins by helping us to name this colourway. So, get your (knitted) thinking cap on, and post your entry in the comments below. The winner will be announced on Yarn Shop Day!

“Merrow” a mermaid in Irish folklore, as the beautiful colours an untamed mermaid on a sunny day.

I think of looking at italian marble with its mix of rich colours which has random flecks and veins of gold running through it that Italians call a ‘Melange.’

How about “kaleidoscope eyes”? That’s what I think of when I see this yarn. <3

I would say ‘Galway Bay’ as it reminds me of watching sunsets in the West of Ireland!

What a wonderful colourway in this skein! It immediately brought me back over thirty years to my wandering around India during my volunteering years with Concern in Bangladesh and seeing the multi-coloured sands on the beaches at the southernmost tip of India!
Kanyakumari Sands is what I’d call this wonderful colourway!

    Scattered

Based on my previous suggestion but as the other Fade St 4ply have single names.it seemed appropriate.

    Rayleigh (pronounced ray-lee) Sky

Based on the scientist who the phenomena is named after – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rayleigh_scattering

My first two ‘Lui ne Greine’ and ‘Shepherds Delight’ were already taken, It’s amazing how we all think alike :) !!!
I reckon we all had this image in our heads – http://irishamerica.com/2013/05/donegal-the-forgotten-county/sunset-over-horn-head/

Summer Sunset!! Looks like we are all similarly inspired and are transported to a balmy summer evening in Ireland where the sky comes to life in a blaze of colours.. Oooh, Summer Blaze is another option.

The first thing that popped into my head as the image scrolled by on my screen was Monarch, as in the butterfly, The beautiful bronze color and the spots.. Yeah when I got a longer look, I saw pinks and blues, but I am sticking with my first impression. –
    Monarch
