I can do colour work!

Really enjoyed following the tutorials. I decided I would spend the time to master the Continental style knitting technique and it was worth it…my colour work cowl knitted up beautifully and I found keeping the floating contrast colour strands under the main colour easy and the project knitted up beautifully tensioned with lovely floating strands that just sit on the inside surface.
I’m just about to block it…but couldn’t wait to share how pleased I am!

My First Colourwork

The follow along videos have SO much GREAT information. Absolutely worth the time and money. Lisa goes above and beyond in sharing helpful tips. It’s great for beginners and experienced knitters. I will be hanging on to this link for further help. Than you, This Is Knit. You do beautiful work. I want to travel to Dublin and hang out in your shop as a holiday

I’ve knitted a sweater before, but I will use the first sweater follow along for my next sweater.
Always looking for the next project. :)

So Supportive

This course is so great for beginning colorwork. I felt so supported through the lessons and being able to connect with the team with questions. The written lessons and videos are so straightforward and easy to follow and go back to again and again. I was very nervous about doing colorwork and the possibility of messing it up, but these lessons were the right amount of support for me to feel challenged, but successful in this new (to me) style of knitting. Thank you TiK for this great course!

Brilliant course

I have absolutely loved this follow along. Always struggled with colour work and had given up
hope of mastering. But, thanks to the really clear tutorials I’m now not only able to follow a chart accurately, get a decent result and knit in the continental style. Can’t recommend highly enough. It’s been great!!

Follow Along FAQs

This FAL is for all knitters that want to give stranded colourwork a go for the first time, or who have struggled with this technique in the past.

The cowl patterns are knit in the round, so you will need to be comfortable with knitting on circular needles before beginning this Follow Along.

You should be comfortable with casting on, knit, purl and casting off.

You will also need a basic knowledge of knitting in the round.

Your ticket purchase covers lifetime access to all all patterns, downloadables and bonus materials. You will also receive a €30 coupon code towards your Follow Along materials. A total bargain!

You will receive a unique coupon code for use in our online shop after you purchase your follow along ticket.

This code will be valid for 6 months, and it must be used in one single transaction.

We will email you a direct link to the course launch page and you can then navigate at your own pace to the next lesson through the links on each page.

We have dedicated an entire video lesson within the FAL to just this topic, so be sure to check that out.

The starter pattern samples were made in Malabrigo Rios and Camarose Snefnug. Most wool or wool blend yarns in aran / worsted weight will work well for these projects.

Ready-made yarn bundles for this FAL can be found here.

This will depend!

The starter patterns recommend 4.5mm (US 7) needles for the edges and 5mm (US 8) needles for the main fabric.

Everyone's tension is different though, so please feel free to adjust for your own knitting style. We cover this in one of the first lessons of the follow along too. All will be explained, we promise!

Simply pop your query in the chat box at the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

A member of the TIK Team will get back to you within one working day.
