The Patterns

I appreciate the clear visual and audio instructions and the opportunities to replay, attempt the techniques with the demonstration and replay again (and again).

I'm doing the custom measuring --the calculator and worksheets for recording measurements are great.

Took many attempts to do Judy's magic cast on --now up to those German short rows..
Is there a short cut method to rejoin the FAL when you stop to knit the swatch or knit from toe shaping to heel shaping etc? I go back through the welcome etc each time? Not a problem just an IT question.

Fabulous course

Just finished my first socks and they fit really well. I had tried knitting socks with traditional heel flap before but gave up. Very clear instructions and videos. Love the toe up construction.. Judy's magic cast on and German short rows were new to me but very clearly explained by Lisa.

First pair of socks…and they fit!

Loved doing this follow along. I watched the German Short Row video part of the course a few times to really understand what I was up to. I now feel pretty confident I could do it again. Loved the tutorial style…relaxed and encouraging. I have short wide feet, so great to have a pair of house socks that fit!

Not what I expected

I thought this would be more than just taking measurements but also how to on how to do various heel styles, and how to actually knit each sock section. Perhaps I didn’t read the course description carefully that this information was not included.

As this course is designed to take you through knitting your first socks it does focus on just the one type of heel to ensure the instructions can be as clear as possible and so Lisa can take you through each individual row at this point.

In Follow Along there are also videos or tools that cover the following parts of the sock:

Casting on at the toe
Toe shaping
German short row heel
Calf shaping
Casting off options

If you are having any issue at all accessing these videos please just let me know - we are here to help.

We include the calculators so that you can come back to the Follow Along at any time with different yarn options and so you can always customise the pattern to the different feet you might be knitting for.
