Bringing a Taste of Ireland to Yarnporium - This is Knit
It's not long now until we hop on the plane to London! We've already sent 5 massive boxes of Irish goodies ahead of us to the venue and we'll be fairly laden down with suitcases on Thursday too. Our focus for Yarnporium will be on some of the very best and brightest from the Irish fibre scene, with yarns on display from Studio Donegal, S Twist Wools and our own Townhouse Yarns.

Echoes of Heather and Stone - Carol Feller

We'll also be hosting Carol Feller for two book signing slots at our stand (Stand 40 in the Main Hall). Come meet Carol from 5pm to 6pm on Friday the 2nd, or from 10am to 11am on Saturday the 3rd.  She will have samples along with her from the recently-published Echoes of Heather and Stone book and we'll have oodles of Nua yarn at our stand for all your project needs. This book has been hugely popular and I have to say that the Newgrange Shawl by Lucy Hague is one of my personal favourites. This book is filled with patterns around the theme of ancient Ireland and has everything from garments to accessories along with design inspiration discussions from each contributing designer.

S -Twist Wool Colour Packs

Some of our favourite Irish yarn comes from S Twist Wool and you can find it at our stand in the form of these gorgeous colour packs. These packs come in a variety of colour combinations and are produced exclusively from fleeces sourced in the Tipperary and Kilkenny regions by Diarmuid Commins. These yarns are a true reflection of the Irish countryside – rustic and charming, with plenty of character! This is Diarmuid’s single ply yarn (which is approximately fingering weight) and it is perfect for colour work accessories or garments. The sticky nature of these fibres also makes this a yarn an ideal choice for steeked projects. We'll have 8 different shade packs at the stand, together with full size skeins so that you can pair the packs up for your own full size garments too.   That's it from me today but I will be back tomorrow with details of the fabulous tweed ranges that we'll be showcasing from Studio Donegal.
