Joy recently knit the Cornish Sun pattern by Julie Dubreux, aka Julie Knits in Paris, using four colours of Katia's Maxi Merino. Not only is this a super speedy knit in a bulky weight yarn, but Joy managed to get three coordinating hats out of the four colours of Maxi Merino! If you have some gift knitting in mind, Cornish Sun would be absolutely ideal.

I adore this hat so much I have made two and am planning a third for myself since I gave the other two away as gifts! Betsy is a super cute toque designed by Jane Richmond that features a simple yet eye catching lace pattern. Knit in chunky weight yarn, you can definitely cast on and cast off in one evening - perfect for a last minute gift (trust me, I've done it!). 

Any of our chunky weight yarns would work for this hat pattern, but I think Big Merino by Katia or even The Fibre Co.'s Tundra would be great options (I have my eye on that stunning blue shade, Blue Lagoon).
